Without any formal design training between the two of them, ex-models Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk surpassed the expectations of a celebrity fashion line and created a successful, albeit short-lived, brand. Established in 2003 in Los Angeles, the flapper-hippie-boho womenswear line-think floral maxi-dresses and lingerie-inspired laciness-earned a CFDA nomination in 2006 and multiple mass-market collaboration deals, including Mango in 2007 and Target in 2008. Shortly after the Target success-the capsule collection sold out in three days-the designers decided to close shop and pursue individual projects.
