Citizens of Humanity
After the successful launch of Seven for All Mankind jeans, Jerome Dahan, one of the founders of the now-famous denim line, decided to start his own company. In 2003, Dahan launched Citizens of Humanity, a designer denim brand for women and men with custom washes and finishes. Based out of Huntington Park, California, Citizens became an instant success. The on-trend cuts and washes satisfied the fashion urges of celebrities and city-dwellers alike. A unique facet of the company is that they donate part of their proceeds to Conservation International, truly standing up for the Citizens of Humanity.
Today, Citizens of Humanity is one of the leading lines of designer denim. The brand has retained its edge over the years by offering new collections every season to correspond with the rapidly changing trends in denim, from cigarette pants to boyfriend jeans. The denim is acid washed, distressed and dyed unique shades, or decorated with Swarovski crystals, zippers, and studs. Always, the trademark h appears on the back pockets. Citizens have appeared in numerous publications like Vogue, In Style, and Elle, as well as being spotted around town on celebrities like Orlando Bloom, Rihanna and Drew Barrymore.
