Charlotte Russe
In 1975, the first Charlotte Russe store opened its doors in Carlsbad, California. From the beginning, the brand was focused on bringing trendy, fashion forward clothing to young women at value-oriented prices. Named after a French dessert, Charlotte Russe was targeted towards women in their teens, twenties, and thirties. In 1996, the company was acquired by SKM, an investment firm, and was developed into a national chain of mall-based boutiques. Today, the company operates more than 480 stores across the nation.
Charlotte Russe offers a wide variety of clothing including tops, bottoms, dresses, accessories, lingerie, and outerwear. The clothing is inspired by the styles on the runway, but made accessible to a broad audience. The company has two sub-labels, Refuge and blu Chic. Additionally, Charlotte Russe is planning to unveil a new line designed by Susie Castillo and Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman based on Castillo's Latina heritage.
